A: Most babies are ready to start eating foods other than breastmilk/formula around 6 months of age. Each baby develops at a different pace, so be sure to consult your pediatrician to see if your baby is ready to start eating baby food.
A: To puree baby food, you’ll first need to cook down your chosen fruits and/or vegetables in a pan. Mash up or blend the mixture until smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add water to thin the consistency. Separate the mixture into small servings and seal in an airtight container. Homemade purees may be store in the fridge for a couple of days or frozen.
A: Once the baby food you’ve prepared has cooled down, spoon small portions into an ice cube tray. This will allow you to freeze individual portions. Once frozen, you can pop the cubes into freezer-safe bags to keep the puree fresh until you’re ready to use it. Be sure to label the bag with the preparation date.
